For The Story Teller, Bailey, Carolyn Sherwin
8 Bailey, Carolyn Sherwin For The Story Teller
Springfield, Massachusetts Milton Bradley Company 1915 Fifth Edition Hardcover Good - "Gladys Mac Kelici Beachwood School Jenkintown, Pa" written inside cover. Otherwise the book is a clean copy all pages present and intack No stry markings observed. Paper jacket showing wear of close to 100 years of use.
The new old art of story telling being rediscovered. We are finding that the children's daily story hour in school, in the neighborhood house, and at home is a real force for mental and moral good in their lives. We are learning that it is possible to educate children by means of stories. Stories telling to be a developing factor in a child's life must be studied by the story teller. There are good stories and there are poor stories and children. The story that fits a child's needs today may not prove a wise child for him tomorrow. some stories teach, some stories only give joy, some stories inspire, some stories just make a child laugh. each of these story phases is important. to discover these special types of stories, to fit stories to the individual child or child group, and to make over stories for perfect telling has been the aim in writing this book. Through telling stories to many thousands of children and lecturing to students I have found that story telling is a matter of psychology. The pages the pages that follow give my new theory of story telling to the teacher or parent. --- Carolyn Sherwin Bailey

Diary of a Teenage Girl, Carlson, Melody
16 Carlson, Melody Diary of a Teenage Girl
Multnomah 2004 1590522419 / 9781590522417 Chloe #4 Paperback New
Redemption has made it to the bestseller chart, but what Chloe and the girls need most is some downtime to sift through the usual high school stress with grades, friends, guys, and the prom. Chloe struggles to recover from a serious crush on the band leader of Iron Cross. Then, just as an unexpected romance catches Redemption by surprise, Caitlin O'Conner - whose relationship with Josh is taking on a new dimension - joins the tour as their chaperone. Chloe's wild ride only speeds up, and this one-of-a-kind musician faces the fact that life may never be normal again. Monday, June 13 prepare my heart for the storm / keep me safe, keep me warm / heap those bags, around my heart / build that wall, before it starts / pile them up, and pile them high / keep me safe, keep me dry / before the waves come rushing in / Lord, please, make me strong again Chloe, Allie, and Laura split their time between “normal” high school life—going to classes, attending prom—and touring as Redemption, a rising new Christian band. When Allie’s mom needs to bow out of their summer tour, Caitlin O’Conner fills in as chaperone. And a good thing, too. Caitlin is the perfect person to have around as Chloe’s feelings for the handsome lead singer of Iron Cross continue to grow. Amid a grueling concert schedule, Chloe realizes that attraction is a powerful and even dangerous force. But when death hits close to home, Chloe’s heart is slammed by another emotion: guilt. In good times and bad, with blessing and temptation, and especially when things spin out of control, trusting God is the challenge. ’Cause there comes a time when we all have to face the music. Story Behind the Book Chloe and her band, Redemption, are being given amazing opportunities, but with it comes the responsibility of serving God wholeheartedly. In this book, perhaps more than the others in the Diary series, Chloe begins to grasp what sort of ministry (not just a music career) that God is calling her to. As an author, I travel a similar road. I am constantly weighing my "art/craft" against what God is pressing on my heart to write, while striving to be authentic and uncompromising.

Sylva, North Carolina Catch the Spirit of Appalachia, Inc. 2008 0981570224 / 9780981570228 paperback New
Hi! my name is Kirby Claphan, I hope you enjoy "Cherokee Mountain," a book I have written to read to my children. They have often asked me to tell them stories about events in my life, and since I think kids should heart stories that are simple and natural I write about what I hold dear. Growing up in a cotton mill community in Greenwood, South Carolina I lived four houses down from my grandparents who were of Native American descent. You might say they raised me because I was always there listening to their stories of the old times and how my great grandfather caught turtles and hunted for possums and rabbits. Grandpa and I were always together ... fishing and visiting kin. He impressed upon me the alue of our heritage. "Be proud of your Cherokee blood," he would tell me. Once, while taking a test in elementary school, there was a box to list your ethnic group. I wrote "Native American.: When my teacher saw my entry, she made me change it. Very upset, I ran home and told my grandpa, who empathized with me. After died (I was ten years old), I spend a great deal of time in the woods watching and listening. To curb my hunger, I would eat acorns and wild onions to keep from going home....for all I wanted was right there in the woods. The way I write, the stories I tell are all because of my grandparents. They have shown me what really matters in life are the simple and natural things.

But Pop's Diner, the roaches' only home for generations, is in danger of being shut down because of financial burdens, and Impy, Shiny, and Demo can't help but butt in. It's a good thing they do.
